Jim Zatika was born in 1959 in Jordan Valley, Oregon, where he has spent much of his life. His parents both from Bizkaia arrived into America at the beginning of the twentieth century. While his mother worked in a ranch minding the owners' children, the father worked as a sheepherder. He remembers the old days when the city was full of Basques.
