Elisa Gandalfo was born in Barber, Idaho and raised in Boise until her mother died of cancer. Then, her father remarried and took her to live with him and her stepmother in Fallon.

When she was grown, Elisa ran the Silver State Saloon in Austin, Nevada. This interview focuses on what it was like running the Silver State, while covering her childhood in detail.
