Donations

We are most pleased to acknowledge the receipt of a hotel ledger and letters donated to our hotel library by Mr. Doroteo Vicente Elordieta y Clemencot, Miss Marcela Elordieta y Clemencot and Mrs. C.W. Foster, grandchildren of Prudencio Clemencot. Mr. Clemencot ran a Spanish boarding house at 41 Hurst St., Liverpool, England. The materials list many Basque emigrants who passed through England on their way to the United States at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries. The materials will prove invaluable to scholars documenting Basque immigration in the New World.

We also wish to thank Mr. Robert B. Morrill of San Francisco for an additional book donation, as well as Mr. Francisco de Abrisqueta who sent a copy of his recently published book, Presencia Vasca en Columbia. The Friends of the University Library provided funding for purchase of a collection of books published by the University of Navarra Press. Mr. Claudio Zudaire and Mr. Mario Marrodan both sent copies of their recent works. Mr. Robert Laxalt donated a collection of Basque publications and documents. Eskerrik asko denei.
