Anglo-American Basque Studies Society In March the first newsletter of the Anglo-American Basque Studies Society was published. It contains several features of interest to anyone with a scholarly interest in Basque topics. The newsletter is divided into five sections which include: 1. Basque Bibliography designed to keep the readership abreast of recent publications about Basque subjects. 2. Euskal Herriko Berriak or “News of the Basque Country” devoted to an overview of academic developments in the Basque Country as well as research in progress. 3. Journal Contents in which the articles in the most recent issues of the major Basque Studies journals around the world are listed. 4. The Forum which is a section in which the members are encouraged to express their opinions about any aspect of Basque Studies on Basque related topics. The AABSS newsletter will be published twice annually and sent to the membership only. Anyone is eligible to join the Anglo-American Basque Studies Society. Student Memberships are $5.00 annually; Regular Memberships are $10.00 and Sustaining Patrons are requested to contribute $25.00. The Society is considering preparing other Basque-related publications and may sponsor a Basque Studies Conference at a future date.
