Scholarships

There were many strong applications for next year’s two $600 scholarships which enable Nevada residents of Basque descent to attend the University of Nevada, Reno. We are pleased to announce that the winners were Ms. Auriane Ugalde of Fallon and Ms. Lisa Kay Fundis of Lovelock. Congratulations!


Basque Music

Louis Michel Irigaray, known throughout the American West as the Basque Balladeer, has recently recorded his favorite Basque and American folk songs. They are available on cassette tape which may be ordered by sending a check or money order for $7.95 to:

Basque Studies Abroad

Boise State University is sponsoring a year abroad program in the town of Oñate (Guipúzcoa). Students receive regular academic credit for the year, and are afforded a unique opportunity to live in a small Basque town. Approximate cost is $4,000 for the period September 1979-May 1980.
