From the Editor We are pleased to announce that our second audiovisual program, “Euskaldunak: Basques in the American West,” is now ready for distribution. It consists of a color slide presentation lasting a little over thirty minutes, and includes a synchronized cassette tape with narration and music. Our first show, “Euskalerria: Homeland of the Basques,” depicts the Basque country. It has been used by many schools, universities, and service clubs and other organizations. “Euskaldunak: Basques in the American West” documents the life of the Basque sheepherder and the Basque festivals here in the United States. Both presentations were partially funded by the North American Basque Organizations, Inc. The programs are available for borrowing. There is a small rental fee ($10 plus postage and insurance) which covers the cost of handling and replacement. Inquires and requests for order forms should be addressed to the Basque Studies Program. As always, if you know someone who would like to receive future issues of this newsletter, send his or her name and address to: Coordinator, Basque Studies Program University of Nevada Library Reno, Nevada 89557 |
