From the Editor We are pleased to announce that the first of the two slide/tape programs being prepared by the Basque Studies Program with partial funding from the North American Basque Organization will be ready for borrowing by educational and service organizations beginning in January. “Euskalerria: Homeland of the Basques,” consisting of over 120 slides and a synchronized cassette tape, will be available for loan periods of up to one week at a nominal cost. The program is about 35 minutes long. Also, a library module for schools and public libraries, containing about 30 English-language books and articles on the Basques, some no longer in print or otherwise difficult to obtain, is under preparation. The module will also contain a collection of photographs and captions for use in displays. The module will be made available for an extended period so that the reading matter can be loaned out locally to individual borrowers. Inquiries and requests for order forms should be addressed to the Basque Studies Program. As always, if you know someone who would like to receive future issues of this newsletter, send his or her name and address to: Coordinator, Basque Studies Program University of Nevada Library Reno, Nevada 89557 |
